Bright and early Saturday morning, the girls arrived... to the unexpected surprise location (see PART 1) and ready to create! Upon arrival, everyone received a gorgeous hand-painted brooch (created by Nikki Tervo) with their name... aren't they lovely?
Everyone settled in quickly and Helen. Robyn and I revealed our secret projects for the day!
Helen taught the techniques to complete this devine "Colourque" project... a sweet canvas in pretty pastels, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Robyn also designed some fantastic projects for the weekend... a very handy pencil roll (to keep all those colourque pencils in their place), a pretty scalloped project bag and thread box.
My design for Saturday was "In a Pear Tree ~ Wall Hanging". This little project may be made up in Christmas tones or in fabrics suited for "all year 'round".
The central, circular panel has tiny semi-detached leaves.
The large pear panel at the bottom features larger leaves that have a tuck/pleat sewn into them to give them extra dimension.
Over the course of the day the girls worked on the large pear panel and received full kits from Robyn to complete the design at home.
And now for some happy snaps of the day... and what a happy day it was!
(Some of the following images have been borrowed from Country Hart Designs... thank you Robyn and Abby.)
We were also celebrating Julie's and Robyn's birthday... which made the day even more special.
Fiona and Lorraine (Granny Loz).
This was the "giggly table" : ) ... just what is Kirrily up to?
And some more of Helen's projects (completed above and in progress below).
Be sure to keep an eye out for my next post, PART 3 (otherwise known as the day of the chicken dance)!
